Grade 9: Lunch with Principal

At last semester’s art festival, the school and ASB arranged a lucky draw. Luckily, a student Fiona Charlier from grade 9 were chosen for the final prize, which was a free yearbook and a meal with the principal. This semester, Fiona Charlier and Sydney Li came along for the meal. During the meal, students and the principal talked about a variety of topics including students’ plans for the future, how to apply for college, how to successfully manage time for activities, socializing, and studying, and etc. Principal Ma proposed some really great ideas, mentioned a few cases about the bad effect of unreasonable course selection and asked students about their current grade’s situation. With the newly formed Peer Adviser group, students can learn from fellow students and tutor fellow students, which is a good way of reviewing and learning. It is suggested that 9th grade is just a head start of the 4-year-long high school journey and is not yet at the most stressful stage. As a result, students should pave the basis for this long run and not get themselves overwhelmed by studies. Having lunch with the principal was a fun and precious experience.
