Middle School Science Fair Lecture---Robotics

The first of April was the last day of the science fair. During noon, classroom 310 was literally full of lively students, since everyone was interested in Michael Zhang’s lecture about robotics.

In the kick-off, Michael talked about the history of robots. From 1942, when the book I, Robot was published, till now. The robot industry advances are at the speed of light, in aspects of development like programming, motor and all its components. Michael compared the hardware and software of a robot to the brain and body of a human, which are equally important. Actually, there are already many versatile and clever robots around us: the agile and nimble ASIMO, the obstacle crossing Dynamics, intelligent ALPHAGO, and so on. Meanwhile, robots still face challenges, and they must adapt to gain more creativity, to learn self-repair and to regenerate, and must rely on reliable energy source. The robots will be our helpers and friends.

The thirty minutes lecture ended quickly, and everyone learned a ton of knowledge in this thirty minute-lecture.
