Pudong Grade 1： Partner Reading

Reading independently is an excellent opportunity for children to explore fictional or nonfictional realms never imagined before. Reading with a partner, however, has proven to be even more exciting for grade one students!

This past week, first grade classes one and two were paired with students from fourth grade for a special “Partner Reading” class. First grade students were able to improve their vocabulary, practice phonetics, and show their confidence in reading by sharing some of their favorite Chinese and English stories with their older peers. Likewise, fourth grade students were able to introduce first grade to new characters, plots, and lively illustrations from their own books.
