Grade 7-8: Sinan Literature Club

SHSID Sinan Literature Club was founded in 2013 by Ms. Chen Fan. It focused on drama and writing. Drama is popular and well renowned in school. The “Lalaski club adventure” was created, based on the school clubs. This drama won the Best Creative Award in seventh grade’s Talent Show. New “Romeo and Juliet” ensured the Art Festival became a more wonderful experience, and the students can have a break from their academic study. There was the rap element incorporated into the new “Hamlet” production, allowing the inner conflict “to be or not to be” became more profound and sad. The students performed Bai Juyi’s “Everlasting Regret” by wearing Hanfu. They performed the true love story between Emperor Xuanzong and Lady Yang, and also spread the culture of Hanfu.

The Sinan Literature club also affords students the chance for creative writing. They hold a creative writing seminar after school, reading both Eastern and Western scripture and asking students to try all kinds of literary genre. The subscription account “SHSID Sinan literature club” was created to help the students who have a talent for writing. The poems “Desolation” and “Necklace” had included in the clubs published works.
