Grade 11:Global Citizen Day

In today's rapidly evolving and increasingly interconnected global community, it is not enough for an individual to only be concerned with their immediate surroundings. Without knowledge of the most important issues affecting the world today, there is little hope that we can effect change in the world of tomorrow. Shanghai High School International Division is proud to inaugurate a celebration of learning and cooperation during our Global Citizen Day. Students will meet to discuss, collaborate, and explore both the state of the world as we know it and their own place in it.

At the beginning of this semester, the 11th graders can give their answers to the survey on wechat, made by Jason Yue. We provide 9 main topics related to some global issues and every student can choose their roles (PARTICIPANT or OBSERVER) in the activities on Global Citizen Day.

Each PARTICIPANT will choose one topic that interests him/her the most research in advance to prepare for a discussion with a group of participants. After which he/she will draft a resolution based on the ideas discussed and to present it to the group and potentially the rest of the grade.

Each OBSERVER will choose one topic that interests him/her the most, listen attentively to relevant lectures in the auditorium, reflect, and write a report. After which, observers will have group discussions about topics that interest them most.
