On Feb.27th 2016, all Girl Scouts troops in Shanghai gathered at SCIS to celebrate World Thinking Day. Girl Scouts from grade 5th to 8th in SHSID participated actively in this important event.

7th grade troops from SHSID hosted a “Connect with the world” station22 girls and 17 moms put a lot of effort in order to complete this project. Interactive presentations allowed the girls to engage the audience. Ideas such as “fashion around the world” and global geography, as well as a wishing wall for the audience express their dreams were particularly popular. All the girls who participated were rewarded as they enjoyed the activities and also learned about the world around them.

Concordia hosted the “Connect with Me” station, which was all about self-discovery and confidence. SAS Puxi and SMIC troops hosted “Connect with friends” station. They made a huge board game to connect their friends together. Through questionnaires, the girls learned more about each other and strengthen their connection with friends. Downtown Troops and YCIS Pudong hosted the “Connect with WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts)” station. Everyone learned something about the amazing world of Girl Guiding, Girl Scouting and their global movement through compelling activities.

Finally, all the girls swapped and mingled with others. Through the World Thinking Day, the girls were introduced to the lifelong adventure of connecting with the world around us and the people we meet.
