Grade 8: 8th Graders Held Psychological Lecture

On December 17th, eighth graders of SHSID went to the primary auditorium to listen to a lecture about teenage psychology. The main theme of the lecture was to encourage students to help others and to think in other’s perspective. Two small experiments took place in the auditorium, one was to find “xiao ming” by passing cardboard to people who they think is “xiao ming.” This experiment proved the theory that when you repeat the pattern “your friend’s friend”, the seventh person might be a person you know. This was brought up to remind students that when they help other people and the others keep on helping, they might also receive help from other people. The second experiment was done by splitting the students into two groups with each group looking at different images. After that, both groups looked at the combined picture of the two. Each group identified different images from the same picture. This had taught students to learn to think in other’s perspective. This lecture was very inspiring, motivating students to help others.
