Two Open Classes from Two Primary Teachers in SHSID

In the afternoon of December 1, Ms Chen Xiaolei in grade 3 had an open class on Math Arrays in Multiplications and in the morning of December 4, Ms Zhang Yi in grade 1 had the other open class on native Chinese 《蒲公英的种子》。

Ms Chen made full use of her privilege as an art teacher and drew beautiful arrays to help the students understand the definition of array. Her class control was also perfect with many positive interactions with the students. The whole class was really efficient and organized.

Ms Zhang’s Chinese class was much more focused on encouraging students to brainstorm around class topics. Everyone in class was guided by the teacher to spread their imagination in a very reasonable way. The whole class was very active and full of energy.

After the two classes, all the teachers who have observed the classes went on QUIP to discuss both the strong and weak points of the two classes. Every teacher expressed his own idea and all the teachers have gained lots of valuable experiences on these two open classes. All the primary teachers in SHSID will keep on learning from all the open classes with different distinguishing features.
