Grade 8: Chinese Culture Week

In celebration of Chinese Culture Week, we hosted many traditional activities. Despite the poor weather, some of the non-native Chinese speakers went outside to fly kites they had hand-decorated and assembled. The designs the students had painted on them were very creative; some had a Sesame Street design; some painted water lilies; some painted South Korean flags... After a while of failing to get their kites to fly, some students gave up. However, some students refused to give up so easily and allow themselves to be daunted by the cold. The students learned that hard work might not pay off, but during all the chaos and work, they enjoyed themselves, and found that hard work could be enjoyable.
