Grade 8: Girls’ Leadership Program -Ms. Dong’s Lecture on How to Fight with Cancer
Grade 8: Girls’ Leadership Program -Ms. Dong’s Lecture on How to Fight with Cancer
On Nov. 13th, Ms. Dong gave the girls’ leadership program a wonderful lecture on how she fought with cancer. During the lecture, Ms. Dong was in high spirits all the time. No one could believe that she had chemotherapy the day before.
Ms. Dong shared her feelings with the girls: The nightmare began on September 15th, 2014. The annual check result showed that she had Non-Hodgkin Lymphona stage 3. The whole world collapsed on her and she had no willingness to accept any treatment. Nobody knew about her illness, except her family members. Two weeks later, she finally faced reality and spread out the news through wechat moments. Help and love came around. She eventually decided to receive treatments while two cancer patients shared their experience with her. She had hope again.
Ms. Dong’s positive attitude towards life, especially after she experienced the hardship of cancer, left all the girls deeply touched: Love keeps me alive. We should be thankful, humble and respectful to everything around us. The girls will never forget her meaningful motto “Live, not survive” in their future. Wish you all the best, Ms. Dong!
