Puxi Grade 2: Rodari Reading Activity

This month, native Chinese students of grade two have a one-month Rodari reading activity. Rodari is one of the greatest writers of children’s literature in the 20th century. His book is not only amusing but also profound. Students are required to read at least one story of Rodari per week and record on their Book Log. Meanwhile, they should complete a page of reading response when finishing reading each story. Besides, every student was asked to share one favorite paragraph of Rodari’s story and let other students guess what it is.

This reading activity is aimed to cultivate students’ interests in reading books as well as forging an atmosphere of reading in school. In addition, through completing reading response, their capability of summarizing, reasoning and writing can also be increased.
