Grade 9: Swim Team Interview
Grade 9: Swim Team Interview
School teams are a crucial portion of the extracurricular activity at SHSID. Students can tryout at the start of each semester and train with other students who excel at different sports to take steps in furthering their athletic career. The News Club will now collaborate with members from two different school teams and look closely at their activities as an athlete and the achievements of the whole team. This is an interview with Mimi, from grade 9, who is on the swimming team.
Q: What is your own personal experience?
A: I started training for swimming when I was a fourth grader. I remembered that I often practiced swimming for 1 to 2 hours each time. I attended the swimming school team this year, but I’ve been to competitions and won medals before.
Q: What do you think you have to improve on in order to achieve better scores in swimming?
A: I can improve on my breaststroke, and also practice some diving and turns. I want to improve them because it can help improve my swimming. Swimming, I believe, can actually improve my health, so improving my swimming can make me healthier.
Q: What are your suggestions for future or younger athletes?
A: For younger athletes, try to exercise and train yourself more. You may also try to compete with your friends, because sometimes competitions can also make competitors better off. This also applies for any future athletes that want to join our school team.
A special thanks to Mimi, who has collaborated gladly to the interview.
