Grade 9-10: Writing Competition

A writing competition is a platform for students to improve their creativity and develop critical thinking skills. This year the SHSID students of 9th and 10th grade participated in this competition to write for three different topics. One of the most popular topics was about the benefits and disadvantages of the internet. Many students argued that the internet has shaped our world today and creates a platform for communication. Students of the opposition brought up the dangers and harm the internet can cause. These essays are also part of the hexathalon competition within SHSID.

The hexathalon competition is built to discover well-rounded students in all academic fields and other aspects such as debating and public speaking. The writing competition, though not mandatory, had a large amount of student participation. Students are all on the edge of their seats to see the results.
