SHSID Delegation’s First Attempt in the Shanghai Regional Business Competition

On Oct. 18th, 24 students of 6 teams in grade 11 attended a Shanghai Regional Business Competition organized by the China Youth Business League (CYBL) at Shanghai Jiaotong University where they competed with 29 other teams from a number of international schools in Shanghai and some other surrounding cities. The competition is split into four parts: two fun business simulations, a case analysis for a failing luxury fashion brand, and a professional, business presentation — all which add up to a team’s final score. Throughout the process, students could develop their understanding on business jargon, analyzing skills and marketing strategies. All groups put in an extremely large amount of effort in this competition, which result in many past-midnightpreparations. However, all of this effort paid off as all six teams qualified for the national round at Beijing next year and received over half of the trophies CYBL offered. SHSID took home the championship title, the 3rd place, the Best Case Analysis Award and also the Best Market Share Simulation Team all in one go.
