Grade 9: Pre-law Society

“Order in the court!”

“Objection, your honor. The witness is narrating.”

Mock Trial not only improves these young lawyers’ critical thinking and public speaking skills, it also allows for them to develop their latent talent and express their opinions aloud. With three Mock Trials awaiting the students during the semester, students learn to cooperate each meeting by coming together with their teams to formulate strategies for success. In each trial, witnesses strive to utilize their testimony in a way that is favorable to the council they are serving. Each closing statement leaves the jury struggling to make a decision. Each verdict, however, leaves behind feelings of success, victory, and achievement. Students have been subpoenaed to join the club to show their skill, express their opinions, and let their voices be heard.

Court’s adjourned to next Monday. All the members are expected to be seen there.
