Grade 11&12: SHS Anniversary Poster Competition

Delightfully, this year is the 150th anniversary of the establishment ofShanghaiHigh School. In order to make the Xian Mian buildingready for theanniversary, Vivian Chen from class 11(3), the leader of FDPD Club (Fashion Design Portfolio Development club),helda small contestforall of her club members. Vivian assigned non-homeroom classrooms to students who applied at the beginning of the semester, some as groups, and othersindividually,to decorate the backboard of the classrooms. Then, the school organized a group of judgesto give abrief comparison and estimation of the students' works.As one of the judges, I have to say that I was quite surprised by the artistic skills and creativity of my fellow students. Every backboard that Iexaminedwas indeed very impressive. Some students drew differentlocationsof our school, like the enormous gate or the Xian Mian building; some put upa lotof the club posters from different grades; others emphasized our school's anniversary by writing out huge "Happy 150th anniversary" signs with their beautiful handwriting. After looking at all of them, I really feltmovedby the students' beloved decorations.
Our school appreciates all of the hard work of the students who participated in this contest. By decorating our school's backboards, the students contributedincreating a more fitting atmosphere to celebrate the150th anniversary in Xian Mian building. I hope that other students can take a look at the backboards and be reminded that it's our school's 150th anniversary.
