G10: Academy Begins

Today, the 10th graders experienced their first class of academy. Based on the students’ hobbies, the academy offers classes involving business, art, public speaking, science (physics, chemistry, and biology), math, writing, and academic decathlon. Students chose which to attend based on their personal preferences, and self-study is also an option. Unlike normal school courses, the seven academies ask students to participate in projects and group work based on assigned discussion questions. They create an active learning atmosphere that allows students to further explore the fields that they are interested in. It is certainly a very unique experience for all tenth graders.
