Grade 8: Service Learning: Reading Buddy

Readingis a treasureand we should cherish it, which is why on September 23rd, the Reading Buddy group for Service Learning began. The goal of the Reading Buddy group is to help young children develop a passion for reading, and gain insightful knowledgealong theway. This goal is being achieved by eighth grade students reading stories to primary students every week. Although each meeting has limited time, they manage to make the most out of it. The first meeting was extremely successful, asthe eighth graders had the chance to interact with the little ones through words and pictures. There was laughter bubbling throughout the classroom, accompanied by goofy voices and flipped pages. Time flew by, and before they knew it, it was time to say goodbye to the children.
