Grade 9: Investment Club

The Investment Club wants its members to understand common investments, learn specific methods of different investments, expand their personal finance knowledge, and gain financial literacy. The fields include financial statements, financial ratios, industry analysis, economic fundamentals, media and news, financial reports, stock indexes, and more. As an example, financial statements such as balance sheets and income statements, are used to analyze a corporation’s financial situation. By comparing its yearly, quarterly, and monthly statements, a company’s management and operations can be measured. In addition, students also analyze famous historical examples such as the failure of “Long Term Capital Management” during the Russian Credit Crisis.
