Grade 7: Fire Drill

Last Thursday, we had the annual fire drill. Fire drills are extremely important, because they help us practice and know how to act in the event of a real fire.

However, this time, our fire drills weren’t as we expected. We were to have two of them during our CAS classes, like usual, but this time we also had another one at random. Neither the teachers nor the students knew when the surprise fire drill would happen. All we knew was that it would occur sometime before the CAS class. Contrary to what we expected, the fire drill occurred during the class right before the CAS sessions. It was quite a surprise, but good practice, because in a real situation, you never know when a fire will start. Later on, during the CAS classes, we had the fire drills that we all already knew were planned. Our homeroom teachers gave us small wet towels to cover our noses and mouths while we ran through the fake smoke. That was done two times. I am sure that after these fire drills, we will all know how to act in a real one!
