Grade 9: A Different Me

On September 16, the ASB election was held for both grade 9 and 10 during CAS in the auditorium. There were a total of 28 students running for ASB, 14 students from each grade. The president would be selected from grade 10 and the vice-president from grade 9.

The students have been preparing since long before the election, some even whispering their speech on the stage before their turn. Jerry from grade 9 and Ines from grade 10 acted as the host and hostess for this election, which lasted for 70 minutes as the candidates gave their speeches. Every speaker presented in a unique fashion: Conrad Chen from 10(1) gave a speech from the view of a philosopher. Jovilyn Xu from 9(5) designed her own election T-shirt and sang a song inspired by the “Alphabet song.” Allen Chen from grade 10 announced his election slogan: “All for Love” to show his love for the school. Other students designed many different kinds of props to help them succeed. After the show, each student voted on who they thought should represent them on the ASB team and who would be responsible for holding future events.
