G6: Brain ABC

This semester, our school invited neuroscientists from East China Normal University to teach us about the brain - what the structures and functions are, and how the brain works. The course name is “Brain ABC.” Last Thursday was the school’s first class. Dr. Cai and Dr. Wang taught us about the anatomy of the brain, using a brain model to explain some terms about the different parts such as the cortex and hippocampus. Then we started to learn how the brain works by playing a game using high-tech “necomimi” gear. The “necomimi” gear uses a brainwave sensor to collect electronic signals from the brain. By observing the ways that “necomimi” ears move, people can roughly tell what state the brain is in. We were so excited to identify the different brain states, determining whether they were in an attentive or resting state. In the class, we also asked a lot of interesting questions about brains. We can’t wait to get answers in our next class! Brain ABC is a very exciting course, come join us and have fun!
