Grade 10: Opening Ceremony

The 2015 Opening Ceremony of SHSID for grades 9 and 10 was held in the Auditorium on September 1st, the first day of school. At the beginning, a splendid video clip made by grade 10 students took the audience back to the wonderful school life of last year. Then, Ms. Min Liu, director of grades 9 and 10, greeted the students who just came back from the summer holidays and urged them to prepare for the challenge of the new semester. She also introduced the high school curriculum reform, proposed practical suggestions, and expressed her sincere hopes for the students.

Afterwards, Ms. Zhen Yu, head of grade 10, commended the outstanding achievements of last semester’s grade 10 students. In her speech, she also encouraged these sophomore students to take responsibility and grow to be more mature. Annie Fang, from 10(11), also shared her aspirations for her new role as a student representative.

As usual, the highlight of the ceremony came with the awarding event. Students with excellent performance in academics, activities, and sports were granted certificates by the director and received cheers and applause from the audience. Finally, Principal Feng Ma concluded the opening ceremony with brief but earnest words prompting students to start planning early, and set a solid foundation for their lives in high school.
