Grade Five:Graduation Recognition

For many kids, the fifth grade graduation marks the end of elementary school and the start of junior high. It is a special opportunity to recognize all of the students.

Graduation Ceremony InvitationGraduation is a big event not only for school but also for the family. “We believe graduation is a time for families to come first,” said Ms. Zhuo, the head of year. The staff of the 5th grade has made an extra effort to communicate carefully and often with the families about upcoming events.

Students would like to get involved in all of the procedures, including designing the invitation card. The 5(1) students’ design impressed everyone, displaying the understanding of life as well as the wishes of the 5th grade. This elaborate invitation really won the admiration of both parents and teachers.

Graduation Songs

Music is one of the best ways to express emotions. Preparing the choir for graduation was an important fifth grade event.

The anthem of “Auld Lang Syne” reminded the kids of their best memories at school. Although most of them sang while sitting in their own seat, they could not stop crying. Kids learned to bid farewell to all their sadness and set out on a new journey in sixth grade.

Graduation Slides & Video

For fifth grade, numerous things were done to create a special day for the graduates, such as the video. During the school year, some teachers were often seen with a camera in their hands. “We took pictures of special activities and of children in the daily routine,” explained the 5th grade homeroom teacher, Ms. Yao.

At last, teachers took a long time to make an awesome video that they showed, prior to awarding trophies, on the last day of school. Kids looked back to their school life and expressed best wishes for the coming year in this special slide show. Watching themselves on the big screen made all the people grateful, excited, and touched.

“The video was full of laughter or nothing but wet eyes,” said one 5th grade kid.

Graduation Ceremony“The graduation ceremony is the moment that students are rewarded with diplomas and trophies that recognized their academic achievement,” said Ms. Luo, the director of fifth and sixth grade section.

It was a big day. Families and teachers were willing to send off the fifth graders with a special ceremony that celebrated their improvement in various fields. Families, including siblings and grandparents, came to see students walk across the stage and receive their certificates.

Students were all dressed up with big smiles on their faces. When shaking hands with principal and directors, they were all proud of themselves at this exciting moment.

The 5th grade ceremony also put the kids up front, as we considered the best speeches at graduation.

Zhi Ning, the representative from 5(1) talked about his school life in the past five years, expressing his gratitude to the families and school. While the graduation address by teachers and parents also enabled them to consider their future.

Graduation Carnival

Although the graduation serves as something of a coming-of-age moment, it should cater to children, remaining light-hearted and fun. So the 5th grade PTSA hosted wonderful activities for an added bit of entertainment.

5(5)and 5(1) took part in outdoor carnival. During the 2-day activity, the 5(2) parents invited the professional photographers to make the class graduation video. And graduates posing for photos in baccalaureate gowns will be made into a pedigree book.

This graduation carnival strongly promoted the feeling of harmony between families and school.

As the saying goes, "Life is a journey. Day by day we learn more and this is just the beginning of our journey." We wish all of the fifth graders the best as they set out on their brilliant journey, step by step, after graduation.
