A Variety of Activities in Chinese Culture Week for Grade 1

During the Chinese Culture Week for the primary school, all the first graders experienced a variety of different activities, introducing traditional Chinese culture.

On Thursday, April 9th, all the first graders wore different traditional Chinese costumes to the school. Every student was so excited to show their beautiful Chinese costume. From this activity, every student learned more about the origin and history of traditional Chinese costumes.

During the Personal Growth class Thursday afternoon, all the primary students watched a very interesting traditional Chinese handicraft art show. Four artists showed different handicrafts to the students. They were Chinese paper-cuts, Chinese straw weaving, Chinese dough modeling, and Chinese knotting art. All the students held their breath with excitement while they were watching the artists doing the handicrafts. When the students saw very delicate work being completed, they burst into cheers and applause for the artist’s amazing work.

By experiencing a variety of interesting activities during Chinese Culture Week, the students went deeper into understanding the traditional Chinese culture and had a lot of fun as well!
