The Parents of First Grade Coming to Introduce Their Jobs

April 9, 2015

On Wednesday, April, 8th, the first grade ended Career Week with a visit from our parent volunteers. They kindly came to the school and gave all the first graders a short speech about their jobs.

One parent from each class prepared a 15 minute talk with visuals explaining an overview and the list of responsibilities of their professions. We had a variety of different jobs for the students to learn about: an engineer from a testing company, an online food supplier, a woodworker, and even an ice-cream manufacturer! There are so many interesting careers! After the presentations, students were encouraged to ask questions about the parents’ presentations so they could get to know more about their different jobs.

Every first grade teacher appreciated all of the parents a lot for sharing their time with the students and helping them to have a better understanding of how different jobs work in the real world.
