SHSID won Superior ranking and Excellence rating in the 2015 Sichuan ISEF fair
ISEF (Intel International Science and Engineering Fair) is a program hosted by Intel and the Society for Science & the Public. Our school had six students who attended the Chengdu science fair this year: Andrew Zhu, Bevin Pan, JianXing Liao, Xin Ru Jiang, Victor Yu, and Matthew Zhang. The fair started on March 13th and ended on March 14th. Andrew and Victor paired up as a team to create an invisible power cord which acted as an efficient point-to-point wireless transmitter that transmits energy. They earned the title of "Superior ranking" due to their innovative idea with the power cord. Xi Ru Jiang presented her study of how allicin and garlic juice affected the human colon cancer SW480 cells. JianXing Liao presented his research on the implementation of virtual laser peripherals based on computer vision technology and the Arduino electronic platform. Both JianXing Liao and Xi Ru Jiang earned the "Excellence rating" award for performing well. Matthew Zhang and Bevin Pan worked as a team to introduce CFRP-based materials for space crafts and they earned the participation award. Since there were many students who attended the fair, the competition at the fair was intense. The students from our school did an outstanding job with their projects and showed great performance in the extracurricular activity.
