Pudong G1： Partner Reading

Reading independently is an excellent opportunity for children to explore fictional or nonfictional realms that were never imagined before. Reading with a partner, however, has proven to be even more exciting for 1stgrade students! This past week, the 1stgrade class one and two were paired with upperclassmen from 4thgrade for a special “Partner Reading” class. The 1stgrade students were able to improve their vocabulary, practice phonetics, and show their confidence in reading by orally sharing some of their favorite Chinese and English stories with their older peers. Likewise, the 4th grade students were able to introduce the 1stgraders to new characters, plots, and lively illustrations from their own books.
