Pu Xi Grade 2: Reading Activities

March 27, 2015

At the beginning of this semester, the 2nd grade class launched a variety of reading activities to motivate the passion and interest of student reading.

First, we designed a Reading Log activity. Students keep records of their reading in their contact books every day to get awards. Every class also held different reading races on the basis of their Reading Log activity to encourage students to read more.

The Bookworm reading activity has started as well. After reading a book, the students will complete a book report which is drawn like a part of a worm body, then they cut it out and stick it on the walls in our hallways. Every part of the body will be connected along with the worm’s head on the wall of the first floor. Our students are doing such an amazing job that there are already enough body parts of the worm to reach the second floor!!

These reading activities have promoted the students’ interest in reading so much that they are often seen reading quietly in the classroom. They have gained knowledge as well as happiness from reading books.
