A Lecture from Carol Jago

On March 19th, 2015, Carol Jago, the chair of the College Board’s English Academic Advisory Committee, came to our campus to present a lecture called ‘The Common Core: Making the Shift from Standards to Powerful Instruction’.

Ms. Jago was a teacher of English with 32 years of experience at Santa Monica High School in California; former president of the National Council of Teachers of English; and one of the authors of Collections.

Foreign teachers commented that it was an excellent presentation in the video classroom of Multi-media Centre. In addition to teachers on campus, teachers and educational administrators from other international schools, such as Livingston International School, Star River Bilingual School, SMIC International School joined the presentation. Ms. Helen Hu, the head of Foreign Teacher’s Office and the head of the English department of primary and secondary school, met Ms. Jago and posed for pictures.
