A Presentation from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt

Being invited by SHSID, one of the three major US publishers, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, sent two foreign experts to deliver presentations to our teachers. It was also in honor of the 150th anniversary of Shanghai High School.

Both presentations were delivered by Ms. Alison Davis, the International Curriculum Consultant. She worked in Pearson Education for several years and has rich experience in international education.

The 1st presentation was Implementation Workshop of Journeys; foreign teachers from Gr1 to Gr5 attended it. The 2nd presentation was Implementation Workshop of Collections; foreign teachers from Gr6 to Gr12 joined it. The video classroom was packed and all teachers were engaged in the presentations. Ms. Davis emphasized classroom interaction and group discussion so that the atmosphere became free and lively.

After the presentations, Helen Hu posed for pictures with Ms. Davis and offered souvenirs to her. Ms. Davis showed her appreciation to the school for organizing the event and showed interest to deliver a presentation again at SHSID.
