Desktop Cleaning Service Team

The Desktop Cleaning Service Team is a part of the School Environment Protection Team, and plays a huge role in protecting the school environment. The team puts in a lot of effort to protect our school's studying atmosphere. Their goal is to create a cleaner studying environment by encouraging students to stop doodling on desks.

At the beginning of the semester, posters about the team were put up in classrooms. The team is currently performing daily checks of the desks in classrooms. On the white-board in each classroom, there is a note showing the number of days which the desks have been cleaned. This seems to be effective; students are motivated to keep the desks clean. As the number increases, less doodling is found on desks and it seems that the students' view on doodling has greatly changed. Thanks to the members of the team and all other students, we now have cleaner classrooms to study in. It is likely that by next semester, the desktops will appear clean and tidy even without the daily checks by the team.

Mr. Shen, the director of the team---seems satisfied. “Usually when we check classrooms, they are all kept clean,” Mr. Shen said. This is a promising result, for it mainly depends on the students' behavior.

Mr. Shen also said that there would be a special event that will happen during the next semester. The event will be held in the 1st floor lobby, and will be about raising students' environmental awareness.

Lastly, sincere gratitude are given to the devoted members: 8(6) Cathy, 8(3) Tina, 8(11) Younji and 8(6) Teresa.
