G9:Traditional Chinese Culture Crafts Class

On December 23rd, 2014, all students of Grade Nine who are non-native Chinese speakers, went to the Annex Building of Zhongxing Building to take part in the traditional Chinese culture crafts class, which was one of the Chinese Culture Week activities. Theme of this year was “street folk arts”. A sugar painter, a dough maker and a word-art writer were invited to perform for the students.

All students were divided into three groups to observe the different performances.

To let the students know more about the traditional culture crafts, the origins, developments and characteristics of the three traditional arts and crafts were introduced first. When the performance began, all students were so excited that they stood around the performers to have a better view of the performances. Some students asked the performer to write names for them, some exclaimed at the vivid sugar paintings and the others asked the dough performer to make their favorite cartoon figures.

After class, every student got their Christmas gift.

They felt very excited as they knew more about traditional Chinese culture crafts.
