Basic Skills Competition for First Graders

December 23, 2014

There are 5 basic skills that the 1st grade teachers would like our young students to master for their school life. To encourage the students, we held a Basic Skills Competition in this week’s Personal Growth class.

Each class was divided into 5 groups and one student at a time represented his/her group to compete with the other students in the Snack Competition, the Chopsticks Competition, the Tying Shoelaces Competition, the Coat Competition or the Pack-up Competition.

After the competition, we hope that all the 1st graders understand that they should sit down and eat their snacks quietly and tidy up the table and the floor afterwards, that they should learn how to use chopsticks and tie their shoelaces, that they should always remember to put on their coats outdoors and take off the coats indoors, and that they should pack up in an organized way and keep their cubbies tidy.
