School Environment Protection Group
8th Grade environment protection group is now in full swing! Our school’s environment is extremely important. It changes everyone’s impression of the school, and makes it a better place to be. To keep our school neat and tidy. Janitors are not enough. This is why we need the school environment protection group, which encourages students to help.
The school environment group doesn’t actually do work that involves cleaning the campus; they stop students from littering around campus. We may think that the school is relatively clean, but the group recently conducted a survey, and the results were very surprising. 50% of the participants often see rubbish in our school, and a mere 7% of the students have never seen any rubbish. 30% of the students would not stop others from littering. However, this does not mean that students support littering. In fact, 70% of the students think that littering is bad.
The group also made posters about keeping the school clean which will be posted around the school. They are planning to present information about the group and the school environment in classes. Next semester, the group members will be patrolling around campus to supervise students. Once in a while, the group holds a conference, to discuss future activities.
“The school environment protection group not only finds problems within other people, but within the group members themselves as well,” said Ms. Gu, the instructor of the group. We hope that through the efforts of the school environment protection group, our school will be cleaner and we will enjoy our school life more.
