Traditional Chinese Seven-piece Puzzles for First Graders

Recently all the first graders are learning different shapes in Math class. To get the students to learn more about the shapes, the first grade math teachers introduced a traditional Chinese toy, Seven-piece Puzzle, to the whole class.

In Math class on December 3, every group of students got a whole set of the puzzles with five triangles of different sizes, a square and a parallelogram. The whole group was required to make a figure such as a running man, a rabbit, a fox, etc using the seven pieces in the puzzle. This game helped the students become more familiar with the different shapes and while also having a class full of fun!
