8th Grade Story Telling Group

In our new system of service learning clubs, the story telling group has played a key role. The group’s job is to tell stories such as fables to students from primary school, especially first graders. The group has made a few appearances in the last two months, going to the primary school building during lunch.

The last time the members held the event was on the day of November 19th when other students were going to lunch. They read stories in Chinese and English.

At the end of the session, there was a surprising moment when the students, in response to a purposeful question from the teachers, suddenly let forth a loud “Thank you”. With that, the eighth graders left the classroom to go back, and, hopefully, have lunch. It was quite a unique and entertaining experience to be with first grade that I personally would recommend to our “ancient” eighth graders.
