The Giving Tree

On Nov. 17th, students of grade 9-10 of SHSID travelled to the suburban rural areas of Shanghai to donate their Giving Tree bags to Limin Primary School. The corporate volunteers and SHSID students stood in the field along with hundreds of little children listening to speeches from the volunteers, Raymond Cheng, an SHSID 9-10 ASB representative, and Ricky Pan, SHSID 9-10 ASB president. The Limin school students sang and danced, the ASB strummed a guitar and sang to the younger ones. The air was buzzing with festivity and liveliness as the children eagerly waited for their gifts. The students and volunteers then distributed the bags among the classes and watched in bliss as the students cheered and screamed in happiness. The air was cold, and the wind was harsh, but the smiles of the children warmed the hearts of all. SHSID will continue this Giving Tree activity for years to come.
