8th Grade Boys’ Basketball Tournament Result

On October 23rd 2014, the 8th Grade boys’ basketball tournament started. Each class had a team with three starting players and substitutes. Most games were held on the outdoor basketball courts, except the finals, which were held indoors, and each game used half of a basketball court. Student volunteers were assigned as the referees for the matches.

The finals were held on October 29th and with a score of 30:18, the class 8(2) won the finals against 8(1) and became the champions of the tournament. Before the finals, 8(2) had defeated many other strong teams and they certainly deserved to win the tournament. However, it is not only 8(2) that played well. Even though class 8(1) lost in the finals, their attitude during all of their games should be highly praised. Class 8(1) were highly skilled and played very well. Most importantly, a lot of students participated, not only the strongest and best players in each class.

Overall, it was a good tournament. Not every class had professional players, but all of the players did their best, and all of the games were very fun to watch. Many students and teachers watched them on the sidelines, and they should be thanked for supporting, cheering and giving helpful advice. Without them, the players would have received much less help and encouragement. The student volunteers did a good job as referees and made quite accurate judgments, and were not biased. Without them, this tournament would not have been possible.
