Pudong G1 Partner Reading

Reading independently is an excellent opportunity for children to explore fictional or nonfictional realms they’d never imagined before. Reading with a partner, however, has proven to be even more exciting for grade one students! This past week, grade one classes one and two were paired with upperclassmen from grade four for a special “Partner Reading” class. Grade one students were able to improve their vocabulary, practice phonetics, and show their confidence in reading by orally sharing some of their favorite Chinese and English stories with their older peers. Likewise, grade four students were able to introduce first graders to new characters, plots, and lively illustrations from their own books.
