Parents' Meeting of Grade 9

As students and parents of ninth grade are both new to the high school, it is extremely important to communicate with parents through parents' meeting held in the Annex on Friday.

At the start of the meeting, Mr. Chen, Wenguo, director of Grade 9-10, clarified the goals and expectations for the students. Also emphasized was the importance of student's self-responsibility and parents' involvement in the education of their children.

Ms. Liu Min, head teacher of ninth grade, listed the GPA distribution, upcoming activities, and the clubs organized for ninth grade, as well as offering a course preview for tenth grade 10. She also outlined how the parents can get the information from and contact the school. Ms. Jiang, Hao, coordinator of IB & AP, talk about what the IB/AP programs mean to students, and let the parents know how to enroll and prepare them for IB & AP classes. Ms. Zhang Li, one of our college counselors, introduced important websites and materials used for the application process for college, and summer programs across the U.S., and then discussed the benefits of a 4-year plan.

At last, Mr. Ma, Feng, the High School Principal of SHSID, shared with the parents some important changes coming to SHSID, and clarified the individual identity of a student like one's curiosity, independency, collaboration, passion and initiative that the school will care about by presenting an example of Stanford Essay “a peek into what is ‘who you are’” .
