Grade 10: A Field Trip to the Lunghua Civilian Assembly Center

March 19, 2014

Recently, members of Campus History Club gathered at the entrance of the Art Center to embark on a campus tour under the guidance of their instructor, Mr. Serrano. The purpose of the tour was to learn about the history of the Lunghua Civilian Assembly Center during World War Two.

When everyone had arrived, Mr. Serrano handed out a thick stack of papers which included a brief introduction of each site to the students.

It began with Mr. Serrano leading students into the Museum of Campus History in the Art Center. The words and pictures on the walls serve as records of all the history the school has gone through over more than one hundred years.

Afterwards, the club went into the little forest and listened to the history of the previously existing A, B, C blocks and the auditorium. Individuals lived in A, B & C Blocks, while families were placed in the D, E & F blocks. One of the singles was a good friend of Ballard’s, the author of “Empire of the Sun.”
