Pu Xi Grade2: Happy Dr. Seuss Week

March 10-14 was Dr. Seuss Week, in memory of one of the world famous children's book author. The primary students enjoyed dress-up days, story readings, and Dr. Seuss themed activities all week.

Monday: Miss-matched Clothes

On Monday, many children wore their clothes backwards and inside out. It was great seeing the silly dress of our kids. English teachers introduced Dr. Seuss and read a story to the students.

Tuesday: Hat Day

On Tuesday children brought a hat with them to school. Some had birthday hats, some had very tall hats – we even saw some monster hats! The students were shown “The Lorax,” in class. The movie is about conservation and recycling.

Wednesday: Wacky Socks Day

On Wednesday children wore wacky socks. Some were colorful, some were weird, all were very funny. The children were excited to show everyone what socks they had chosen. The children also made their own 'Lorax' mustache using paper and straw.

Thursday: Twin Day

On Thursday, the students came to school dressed like each other for twin day. Students wore the same t-shirts, hats and jumpers. Also that day, the children made conservation posters about protecting the earth. The children were very eager to finish their posters at home so we could hang them up all over the school.

Friday: Book Character Day

On Friday, children came to school; dressed like a character from any Dr. Seuss book. We saw Thing 1 and Thing 2, Sally, The Cat in Hat, the Lorax, and more! We celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday with a cupcake during snack time. It was the perfect conclusion to a wonderful week.
