Grade Five Learnt First Aid Intervention

Grade Five students learned about First Aid in Health class. After watching a video about initial care for illness & injury, kids began to understand how vital first aid can be in the event of emergency. Since effective first aid requires instruction and practical training, the kids were taught some simple life-saving techniques, such as applying an adhesive bandage and direct pressure on an open wound. They also learned that if they are unsure what to do, it is best to wait for trained personnel to arrive on the scene. The more we know about different types of emergencies, the more we are able to help.
