Lecture about American Mathematics Competition

This week, an American Mathematics Competition (AMC) lecture was presented at Xianmian building. The lecture was about “probability”, the teacher explained exercises by using different methods. The exercises were divided into two main categories, classical probability model and geometric probability model. Classical probability is the probability of an event, which is the ratio of the number of cases favorable to it, to the number of all cases possible. Geometric probability models are probability questions involving geometry, such as the length, area and volume.

The lecture gave students a chance to practice and enjoy math, and helped students to prepare for the American Mathematics Competition.
