8th Grade Jump Rope Competition

Pickety-pat. Pickety-pat. The roar of victory mingling with screams of joy and high-fiving ringing throughout the grounds. The sun shines down on and mercifully warms SHSID as we hold the Long Jump Rope Competition, a competition designed to put the students’ coordination and timing to the test. Competing against the most agile of each class, the students had to come up with jumping formations best suited for each participant. The clock ticks down: 3 minutes … 2 minutes … 1 minute … zero. Screams of victory or defeat erupt as time runs out. Victorious or not, the value of learning to work as a team is priceless.
