Grade 9 Students Win Overall Champion in World Scholars Cup

On November 23rd, Shanghai High School International Division sent about a dozen teams to YK Pao School in Song Jiang to compete in the Shanghai introductory round of the World Scholars Cup. After going through all the sections – Collaborative Writing, Scholars Challenge, Team Debate, and the Scholars Bowl – members of team 501, which included Celine Sung, Jasmine Jiang, and Jennifer Zhu, gained 19 medals in all and won the title of Overall Champion Team. Jasmine Jiang also won an individual trophy. They said they were “delighted and absolutely stunned.” This success boosted their confidence that they will do well in the regional round in April and make it to the global round in Singapore.
