Welcome Graduates

On the morning of June 6th, as the dawn light broke through the clouds, the graduating class of 2025 at SHSID celebrated a significant milestone in their educational journey—their high school graduation ceremony. Today, they bid farewell to their beloved campus, carrying with them wisdom and courage as they step into a wider world. High School Principal Ma Feng led the graduates, dressed in their caps and gowns, from the Xianmian Building, taking the brief walk to the grand auditorium, a path filled with countless precious memories. Each step taken by the graduates signifies a farewell to their youthful selves and a welcoming of a new future.

At the entrance of the grand auditorium, the SHSID string orchestra plays a welcoming tune, greeting the graduates and their families with melodious notes. As the clock strikes nine, the host announces the beginning of the ceremony. Graduates enter in order, welcomed by the proud and expectant gazes of their parents and teachers. Inside the auditorium, the wind band’s performance marks the start of the ceremony, as graduating musicians join their younger peers for one last performance at their alma mater, infused with both nostalgia and blessings in the beautiful melodies.

Principal's Address

Principal Feng Zhigang delivered a speech titled "Winning the 'World' with Sincerity." He reflected on the remarkable achievements of the graduates in academics, arts, and sports, highlighting poignant moments such as students supporting children with autism and documenting campus ecology. Drawing from the story of "True Orange Awaiting" during the school's 150th anniversary, he encouraged the graduates to uphold sincerity and courage as they pursue their dreams in life.

Valedictorian Speech

Student representative Eugene shared humorous memories from their journey together. He remarked, “If I could live high school life all over again, I would still choose this challenging path, as it has made us better individuals.” His heartfelt words resonated with everyone present.

Parent's Speech

Parent representative Ms. Cheng emotionally reflected on her children’s growth journey and expressed gratitude for the teachers’ hard work. She encouraged the graduates to shed labels, embrace possibilities, and maintain curiosity and passion during their college years, urging them to live their most proud selves.

Award Announcement

The ceremony moved on to the awarding session, where various honors, including subject awards, academic awards, and social activity awards, were announced. As the names of recipients for the Talented Award, Principal's List Award, and Honor Student Award were revealed, awardees stepped onto the stage to accept their well-deserved recognition. Principal Ma then solemnly announced the three major awards—Gold Award, Diamond Award, and Special Contribution Award. In his heartfelt message, awardees came forward to receive their accolades from Principal Feng and Principal Ma, their eyes shining with the brilliance of youth.

Commencement

The moment of commencement finally arrived. Graduates took the stage one by one to receive their diplomas from the principals. As the golden tassels swayed gently, years of youthful experiences crystallized into a new beginning. Many teachers and students had tears in their eyes, cherishing this moment forever in their memories. The graduate representative also presented a special gift to the school—a collage made from flower and leaf specimens, symbolizing “rooted here, branching out in all directions,” and expressing the graduates’ gratitude to SHSID.

Special Gifts

This year, a record 60 students—over one-fourth of the 200+ graduates—had been at SHSID since first grade. During a special ceremony, these Twelve-Year Full-Curriculum Students watched a video of their 12-year journey. Holding glowing star lights, they walked to the stage, illuminating the auditorium with memories of their complete school experience. This beautiful moment demonstrated the strong bond between students and teachers, making it the most touching part of the graduation.

Graduation Song

In conclusion, all graduates gathered on stage to join the twelve-year students in singing the graduation song—"The Best Day of My Life." As the lively melody played, the lights held by the sixty ‘twelve-year students’ intertwined with the blessings from all faculty and students, creating a radiant constellation that illuminates the future. At this moment, the story of youth was encapsulated, while a new chapter of life began to unfold.
