The Seventh and Eighth Grade Charity Fair
The Seventh and Eighth Grade Charity Fair
This year’s charity fair was held on November 14th, a drizzly day. However, the weather did not affect anyone’s enthusiasm at all. The first round of token sales, consisting of 5,000 RMB worth of tokens, sold out in a mere 12 minutes, and many students who arrived a bit late were surprised and disappointed to find that they couldn’t buy tokens. When the fair started, the entire cafeteria was abuzz with activity. Students sold everything from freshly made hot beverages to books. Teachers participated too, selling a wide variety of goods, including jewelry made on the spot. Students came up with remarkably creative ideas, such as doing quick sketches for people. Outside, two groups of students paid no attention at all to the small drizzle. The seventh graders were selling water balloons and having a great time playing around at the same time. The eighth graders had a few volunteers sit on chairs, and they provided shaving cream on a plate so people could, quite literally, pie the volunteers in the face. Both booths received plenty of attention, and all the students and teachers had a great time.
In the course of all the joy and fun, money for charity was made. In total, over 32,000 RMB was raised for charity from over 60 unique stands. Here’s to the terrific job done by the students who managed such a feat!
