Junior Section donated toys to migrant worker's children
On Friday, 5/25/2012, a group of students from 7th and 8th grade went to a migrant school in Tangzhen, Shanghai to donate toys to the kids there with Ms. Chen. Their school had about 20 students, and the students were around third grade to sixth grade. The walls of the school were filled with quotes from famous people and faces of artists. Newspaper articles were pinned to the classroom billboard, and many books filled the bookshelves. When we went there, the children were mostly joyful and lively later on, but quite a bit shy when we first tried to talk with them. Many of them learned instruments like the piano, bamboo flute, and the guzhen. A fifth grader even demonstrated his flute skills to us! We were all staring in awe after hearing a beautiful piece of music. Later, we discovered that the third graders were extremely good at Ping-Pong. Jason, Jim, Jayden, and Chelsy lost consecutively to them with scores of 3:0 and 3:1. We were given thank-you cards for our efforts, and the images printed on them were very dazzling. That was drawn by one of the sixth-grade students. It is hard to imagine how gifted and talented these children will be in a few years.
